Dandara

An actor who specializes in playing bit-part samurai roles wakes up. Although he believes he has just finished his final shoot, he finds himself struggling to stay on his feet. Suddenly, a young woman appears before him and addresses him as Lord Okita. He recalls having indeed portrayed this famous warrior from Japanese history.. Yet something is amiss: no one seems to understand what he is saying, and—most notably—his katana appears to be all too real. Is he living a waking dream? Or is he a samurai from the past descending into madness?
