Akuma no Isu
After losing her parents in a fire, Satsuki Ninomiya was taken in by her wealthy uncle, but she was treated coldly. This was because her father had left home—effectively disowned—to marry the daughter of a commoner. The hostility from her aunt and her aunt’s daughter, Aiko, was particularly harsh, and Satsuki felt she had no place to belong, neither at home nor at school. One day, she purchased an antique Western chair at a bargain price from an antique shop. In fact, this chair was a historic piece once used by Marie Antoinette herself, and it possessed the power to grant its owner’s wishes. While sitting in the chair, Satsuki had a dream about her parents. Prompted by that dream, she learned that her parents’ deaths were not the result of an accidental fire, but murder. Relying on the last painting her father created, she begins searching for the killer. Gradually, the secrets surrounding her parents’ deaths are revealed, but the people she suspects of being the killer die one after another. “Who, exactly, killed Satsuki’s parents…?” (Source: Kaiki Manga no Anagura, translated)
